A Universal Language
We hear them in our own tongues speaking of the mighty deeds of God.
Acts 2:11 (NAS)
The most amazing Force in the world today descended upon us in the second chapter of Acts; It was the Gift of the Holy Spirit to disciples of Jesus Christ. On that day, It came in high drama:
'And suddenly there came from Heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them' (v.2-3).
The Bible says in Jerusalem at that time were 'men out of every nation under Heaven' (v.5), who spoke hundreds of languages. Yet, the Holy Spirit allowed each witness to understand God's on-fire disciples in their own tongue.
Performers speak a universal language, too. Undeniably, music is a universal language. So is love. Ditto dance and fashion. Now that film and television are subtitled, add in drama and comedy.
When the Holy Spirit powers God's entertainers, and the media carries their performances around the world, we witness a movement so compelling that nothing can stop It. 'He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water' (John 7:38).
These waters combine into a mighty wave. Actors, models and talent for Christ are riding His wave. The living water they carry washes through the entertainment industry bringing new life to parched audiences--a beautiful, eye-opening, refreshing, and redemptive drink of water.
The show begins.
