Acting School 2020: Master Plan Summary
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power...
Ephesians 1:17-19 (NKJV)
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)
The Book of Ephesians is called: 'The Rolls Royce of the Epistles,' 'The divinest composition of man' and 'The distilled essence of the Christian religion.' *

It's a small Book with just six chapters, but It carries a wealth of wisdom--with short answers to key questions, like:

1) Who are we in the Eyes of our Creator?

2) What is the purpose of our lives?

3) How should we act?

Because act we must and model we should! God's talents beg to be seen.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: When you were kids, you showed off yourself. You were born to perform. The Lord was preparing you for today.

So now, it's time to grow up and step out. It's time to show off the Star among stars. Everything has led you to this moment.

That every hand applauding you,
Every eye watching you,
Every mouth cheering you, and
Every foot following you will be...

'To the praise of His glory' (Ephesians 1:6), 'To the praise of His glory' (Ephesians 1:12), and 'To the praise of His glory' (Ephesians 1:14).

But it's not your glory. That's child's play. This role of a lifetime you play for Him. Your part? To show off your King to a mixed-up world--by your excellence, both on stage and off.

Earth's most precious Package hung on a tree almost 2000 years ago. At first glance, the Gift seemed humble and hardly desirable. Nevertheless, He radiated intriguing power. For those who reached up to take God's Gift, joy indescribable was their reward.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Unwrap Jesus.

Imposters are trying to tie Him up again--hiding His light and preventing His purpose. They're destined to fail... But in the process, our world is more confused than ever.

So learn the Master's plan, accept your role in it-- and ace God's Acting Academy. Your destiny? To graduate with honors.

NOTE: This is a 2020 edit of Carey's 2014 devotion series, 'Acting School.' You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' To quote Carey: 'If you think you're not in show business, think again. Every disciple in every field performs for Christ. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.' Mostly true. But you're not 'merely players.' You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.'

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
