Acting School 2020: Your On Stage Cues
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:15-16 (NKJV)*
'In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.' Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:2 (NKJV)
Exhort one another daily, while it is called 'Today'...
Hebrews 3:13 (NKJV)
In the Book of Revelation, Jesus says 'I am coming quickly' four times: (3:11; 22:7, 12, 20). Also, 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock' (3:20).

In the Book of Luke, He says: 'Be dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps lit. Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns... so that they may immediately open the door to him when he comes and knocks' (12:35-36).

In the Book of Matthew, He says, 'Be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect' (24:44).

In Mark: 'Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come' (13:33).

Time is important in the Bible. We're told to remember what God has done, consider what He will do, and follow His direction today.

As performers, we must know our roles and play them. One day soon, we'll meet our Director Face to face. The exact time is an intentional mystery.**

But He gives us clues. He wrote and published His Script in advance. All we have to do is follow the scenes.

Actors, models and talent for Christ:

1) Be prepared. The final four parables in the Book of Matthew focus on timing and preparedness.***

2) Act every day as if it could be your last performance on Earth, because it could be. So remain in character.

Your onstage cues come from the Mouth of God, and they are urgent.

People are lost, and you know the Way.
People are confused, and you hold the Truth.
The times are dark, and you carry the Light.

So study well, perform better and redeem the time.

If you do, expect a commendation from your Director: a golden ticket through a golden gate on a golden street to a golden crown... all to hear the words, 'Well done, good and faithful servant' (Matthew 25:21,23).

NOTE: This is a 2020 edit of a 2014 Shine Devotion series, ...Acting School.' You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Every disciple in every field performs for Christ. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.' Mostly true. But you're not 'merely players.' You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
