Acting School 2020: Your School Credits
He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.
Ephesians 1:4 (NKJV)
You were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
Ephesians 1:13 (NKJV)
God, Who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us... raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:4-6 (NKJV)
Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.
Ephesians 2:19 (NKJV)
When seeking a degree (or recognition of your accomplishments), credits count. In God's School, credits can be summed up in one Word: Jesus.

By His credit, we gain entrance to His Royal Academy: a place where faith creates futures, humility raises heroes and following our Leader perfects us.

Because He redeemed us. He bought us back from Earth's polluted school system: a place where fortune creates futures, publicity raises villains--and following our leaders moves us further away from Perfect, Who is Jesus.

God's Royal Academy Yearbook has lots of photos and credits. As the supremely proud Father, God gazes upon each of us through Jesus-colored glasses. He reflects upon our milestones and cherishes every single performance--no matter the size of the role.

He sees our imperfections clearly, but chooses to look at our best side: the one where we resemble Christ--increasingly. God sees us as He created us to be, and He knows what we will become.

In terms of the necessary credits for graduation, there's only One: the Life of Jesus. If we follow Him, we walk in His Shadow--except the Sun of God casts no shadow. It's a Man-to-man reflection only God can create. When we walk behind Jesus, we shine.

Actors, models and talent for Christ, stay close to your Principal and listen to your Guidance Counselor.

Review the credits on your permanent file--as often as necessary to stay encouraged. Because your credentials are flawless--even glowing. The enemy's opinion is irrelevant, as is man's. If they disagree with your status as written by God, they're wrong.

He's right.

So stay in school. Make A's. Be thankful.

Acting School 2020: Your School Credits (Part 4)

* Graduation from God's Royal Academy of Acting happens when we leave Earth. Until then, we move higher and higher in our studies--even to become assistant-teachers and examples to others.

NOTE: This is a 2020 edit of Carey's 2014 devotion series, 'Acting School.' You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' To quote Carey: 'If you think you're not in show business, think again. Every disciple in every field performs for Christ. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.' Mostly true. But you're not 'merely players.' You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.'

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
