All Things New (Part 13)
Your New Script
A new Commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
John 13:34 (NKJV)
If you love Me, keep My Commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever--the Spirit of truth.

He who has My Commandments and keeps Them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.

If anyone loves Me, he will keep My Word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

John 14:15-17,21,23 (NKJV)
In the entertainment industry, scripts are as common as pig tracks on a farm. However, an excellent script is rare, like a needle in a haystack, or a treasure in a field.* Because great films are built on great scripts:

'It all starts with the script' (Steven Spielberg).

'It can have an enormous effect, because big budget movies can have big budget perks... but the driving force, of course, is the script, and your part in it' (Morgan Freeman).

'I would love to sign on to do a movie if it was the right role and if it was the right script, because I would be taking time away from music to tell a big grand story... So for me to do that, it would have to be a story worth telling' (Taylor Swift).

If 'Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen' (Hebrews 11:1), then a good script is like faith. It's the substance of a good show.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: You are the players in a good show. But it's not just good; it's the greatest story ever told, Part 2: The King's Return. Your roles follow the Lines of John the Baptist: 'Prepare the way of the Lord. Make His paths straight' (Matthew 3:3). If today's way is media, then your job is to clear up the misunderstandings.

But in order to play your part well, you must learn your script well. As Jesus says so clearly throughout the Gospels, it's all about love. That's your motivation. Even so, please note in John 14 (above) an unmistakable action and reaction within His directions to you, His performers:

Your action: Keep His Commandments. (In order to keep Them, you must know Them.)

His reaction: He'll send you a personal Coach, His Holy Spirit.

Your commendation: A Smile on the Face of the Executive Producer, and out-of-this-world perks.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
