He is the Image of the invisible God, the Firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the Head of the body, the church, Who is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
The relationship of Jesus to God and creation is a great mystery: It's clearly described in the Bible, but rises above our logic, as it should.* The King of kings is before all things: mankind, nations, angels, judgment and the church.
What does this mean to us as His body? To actors, models and talent for Christ? I believe it means Jesus is the first and last Word on our earthly behavior. Because of His human experience, God set Him up to be our Role Model.
To be like Him is precisely your job description on every stage, screen and set. Your talent is a shiny fishing hook: modern bait to draw attention His way. But your life, specifically your off-camera behavior, is more urgent.
So how did He act? Most often, our 'Wonderful Counselor,' 'Prince of Peace' and 'Lamb of God' walked in love. His anger fell on religious hypocrites, religious profiteers and Satan.
So how should we act? As the body of Christ, we're 'The Lamb's Wife' (Revelation 21:9). Somehow, I can't see the Lamb's wife complaining or stomping around in defiance. I see her following in His Spirit: in 'Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness (and) self-control' (Galatians 5:22-23).
Actors, models and talent for Christ: If He's preeminent in all things, then in all things, love is your main act.
