All Things (Part 8)
Are Possible With God
Jesus looked at them and said to them, 'With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'
Matthew 19:26 (NKJV)
Jesus said... 'If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.'
Mark 9:23 (NKJV)
Consider the combination of three small words: hope, faith and work. Together they form a rare business partnership. The business is the production of miracles: eye-popping, jaw-dropping, head-turning amazements. This partnership is a two-way deal: man and God.

Man must carry the first two items: hope and faith. Hope is like the building plan; without it, we're dead. Faith supplies the energy; it keeps us moving. But the third item, work, depends on both partners. Because 'We are labourers together with God' (1 Corinthians 3:9).*

It's an extraordinary collaboration. God designed it: We do our best, He does the rest. When God hears our hope, feels our faith and sees us try, He sends to us His miracle-making Expert: 'Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith' (Hebrews 12:2).

Actors, models and talent for Christ: remember this three-step partnership:

1) Hold on to your hope to become a star for God, casting down arguments and skeptical doubters.**

2) Continue to walk in faith, no matter how far. 'Without faith it is impossible to please God' (Hebrews 11:6).***

3) Work every small stage showing joy and contentment. God's Word promises prime time for humble workers.****

To Be Continued...

* Bible commentaries on 1 Corinthians 3:9, 'Labourers together with God.' Note MacLaren's Exposition: 'Cannot He do it all Himself? No. God needs men to carry out His purposes...':

** 'Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ' (2 Corinthians 10:5); Consider also: Jesus put skeptics out of the house before He performed miracles:

*** 'He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him' (Hebrews 11:6), 'And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive' (Matthew 21:22). Trust that His timing is perfect:

**** He will complete your work, perfect your performance and exalt you:;;

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
