An Axe To The Root (Part 6, Conclusion)
War Winning Words
For He looked down from His holy height; from Heaven the Lord gazed upon the earth, to hear the groaning of the prisoner, to set free those who were doomed to death.
Psalm 102:19-20 (NAS)
Because of my own God-powered weight loss 220 pounds ago, I am deeply saddened to see millions of people similarly beleaguered. Then, when I witness 99% of my brothers' and sisters' attempts to get fit fail, I am angry--not at them, but at Satan's temporary success.

I want all victims of obesity to enjoy victory here and now, because their lives will become more joyful. A weight problem is visible, but other 'clinging serpents' are not. I ask God for triumph over every weed, bad habit, and addiction we face--with their host of ill effects. I ask Him out loud to bless everyone reading this devotion.

I encourage you to speak His power-filled, weed-killing, root-obliterating words to every angel, saint, demon, force, and power in this universe. The good guys will help you. The bad ones will flee.

Are you faced with tragedy or desperate circumstances? It is written, 'And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose' (Romans 8:28). *Tell Him your purpose and ask to see the good in the midst of your storm.

Feeling worthless? It is written, 'You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people that you may proclaim the praises of Him Who called you out of darkness into His glorious light' (1 Peter 2:9). *You are royalty in the family of God.

Looking at an impossible task? It is written, 'I can do all things through Christ, Who strengthens me' (Philippians 4:13). *Nothing is impossible for God. He is in you.

In the midst of strife and chaos? It is written, 'And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus' (Philippians 4:7).

Bottom line: You have no bad habit, poor behavior, addiction, sin, or hopeless situation that God does not cover in the Bible. He gives you His very power to kill each one at its root so your life will be abundant. Speak His words daily. Watch them win your wars for you!

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
