An Open Door (Part 1)
A door was opened to me by the Lord.
2 Corinthians 2:12 (NKJV)
God gives each of His children talents and opportunities, a.k.a. 'doors.' In the gifting of talents, our Creator delights to make each of us wondrous and unique. 'I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well' (Psalm 139:14).

He put talents within us to run the world: from farmers to inventors, from writers to explorers, from teachers to performers.

Yet, Satan fell from Heaven and Adam fell from grace. Through arrogance, disobedience, and bad choices, sin entered our world, and it changed. Still, the wonder of God's original design for us never changed. His goodness is constant.

At the perfect time, Jesus came to make everything right again. He is the Ultimate Door; 'Most assuredly, I say to you, I am The Door' (John 10:7). Walking through Him (which is our belief in Him) opens the next mighty door: the door to the Kingdom of God.

Once we see the Best Door of all and the heavenly doors beyond, we walk toward Jesus--right through a troubled and turbulent life on earth. Some of us run. Some of us crawl. Along the way, we are told to give good direction to all who ask.

God will open many doors on our journey to Him. Each one will be on the path to which we are called, as God has assigned us a field to work--some large, some small, yet each of equal importance.

What is your mission field? For the movement of actors, models and talent for Christ, it's the entertainment industry, a.k.a. Hollywood, a.k.a. the media. Its influence is as large as you can get on this planet without God. But it is infinitely larger with Him.

If God has called you to this field, consider yourself not just talented, but chosen. He will open importantly earthly doors for you. These doors are hard to find and even harder to open. But watch Him do it.

The first challenge is to be bold and determined enough to walk through these doors. AMTC is such a door. Done that? Yeah! You have ignored doubt, fear, and your first obstacles.

You are on the way.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
