Animal Lovers
And every creature which is in Heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: 'Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him Who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!'
Revelation 5:13 (NAS)
I see no question as to the existence of animals in Heaven, nor of their importance on earth. In Heaven, they speak. On earth, they speak. They sing, whistle, chirp, cheep, click, growl, laugh, bark, purr, whine, and roar. They communicate with each other in a vast display of languages and actions that animal experts only begin to understand.

With increasing study, the case against 'dumb' animals grows weaker. The case against dumb people? Inarguable.

Famous atheist turned Christian author, C.S. Lewis, wrote the heralded Chronicles of Narnia. In Narnia, God is represented by a lion, and all of the animals speak. How arrogant are humans to believe animals are unimportant, unfeeling, unintelligent, uncultured, or incapable of love. They love God. They even yearn for Jesus and the new earth. Really?

'For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now' (Romans 8:22). Because in Heaven and the new earth, 'The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them' (Isaiah 11:6). How?

' 'The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, the lion shall eat straw like the ox, and dust shall be the serpent's food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,' says the Lord' (Isaiah 65:25). No more predators. No more prey. Only peace and joy.

When God gave Adam rule over the creatures of the earth, his kingship was intended to be one of kindness, practicality, and awe at the mystery, majesty, ability, humor, and power of God's creations. Imagine Adam's pleasure in creating their names, as a loving father names his children.

So, the next time you yell at your 'dumb' dog, see a stray, visit the zoo, or ignorantly support the abuse of animals within the food industry, remember Jesus' orders, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature' (Mark 16:15). How do you preach Jesus to anyone who doesn't understand your words? By your actions.

Be kind to animals. God loves them.
