Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His Feet, saying to Him, 'Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.'
Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the Spirit and was troubled.
Long before Martha and Mary said to Jesus, 'Lord, if You had been here,' God listened to similar pleas of desperation from Job and David.** Job was respectful, but bewildered. David was despondent, but faithful. Likewise the sisters of Lazarus.
From the four of them, we can conclude: God doesn't mind our questioning Him. Not only that, He empathizes, evidenced by the Verse, 'Jesus wept' (John 11:35). And later, in regard to His saints: 'Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me' (Acts 9:4).
On the other hand are family: our loved ones who must take second place, when we hear God's Order: 'Follow Me,' (which was said by Jesus nineteen times).*** Did all disciples leave kin behind? We are told Peter, James and John did.
Jesus is overwhelmingly clear which family duties must come first: 'He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me' (Matthew 10:37).
Not only that, but Christians must trust God will take better care of loved ones in their absence than if they were there.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: You have been called as end-time actors, performers of light in media. Communication technology was designed for such a time as this: a time of deep darkness on the earth; a time of uprising for God's stars.
So don't leave the field with loads of guilt bundled on your back by confused kin: kin who don't understand your calling. Thankfully, most families I've met support their beloved performers. But if yours don't, talk to God first. If He says continue, obey Him.
In His due time, they will understand and celebrate your role in God's plan.
