Bad Ideas (Part 9)
You Can Have It All!
Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, 'All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.'
Luke 4:5-7 (NKJV)
Our Lord slapped the Serpent with God's Word.* But I hesitate to think who might agree to Satan's tempting offer. If you pause to consider possible sources of worldly promotion, keeping in mind that Jesus the Man said, 'I can of Myself do nothing' (John 5:30), knowing also that Luke 4:6 confirms Satan's authority from God...

Remembering the Bible says God Personally approves all rulers for reasons only He understands,** does either God or Satan decide on the leaders who will govern us? In other words, our own industry or energy can't fuel our glory--without a higher or lower source? It's a weighty thought to consider.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Only One has it all. He is God. His Son connects us with His glory and He is more than happy to share. Never believe Satan's ideas, no matter how big or grand they seem.

When he promised Eve she wouldn't die,*** it was just a temporary deal, with a lot of pain in the process. So, too, for everyone who buys gas at the enemy's filling station. His fuel will stall out at the worst time, leaving you stranded in bad place.

If you're content with what you now have, showing the Lord appreciation, you're in the right spot for promotion.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
