Beautiful! Like Esther... Beauty Ingredients: Patience
Each young woman's turn came to go in to King Ahasuerus after she had completed twelve months' preparation.
Esther 2:12 (NKJV)
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.
Lamentations 3:25 (NKJV)
Wait on the Lord, and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the land.
Psalm 37:34 (NKJV)
The Book of Esther is built on patience. Specific measurements of time are given throughout it... ending with the dated consecration of the Jewish Holiday called Purim, celebrated to this day.

Esther knew how to wait. She waited through 12 months of beauty school. She waited to meet the king. Once married, she waited on him to summon her.* By prayer and fasting, she waited on God. She waited on God's timing to plead for her people. She waited 12 months for their day of vindication.

Before the age of electronics, people knew how to wait. Contrary to popular opinion, waiting is a good thing. It is foundationally productive, because during these times, we build wisdom, knowledge, character and support. Although Christians yearn for glory moments, we can become frustrated between them.

But God says transformation happens step by step, little by little, glory to glory. Everything in nature works that way, so it makes sense... although 'The prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2) would have us live otherwise.

He prods us like a herd of cattle at every possible moment. We don't have time to consider the narrow path. We've got to reach his destinations as quickly as possible. God forbid this deception.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: you have a vision for your success. You see other Christians succeeding. But God is the only One with perfect vision--and perfect timing. Your role in earth's end time drama is more significant than you know.

So don't be like Saul, Israel's first king, who couldn't wait on God. He took matters into his own hands--and eventually lost it all. Instead, be like David, who won it all by patience.

Be like Jesus, Who waited thirty years to start His big play. Be like Esther, who saved her people by the patience she practiced.

'For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay' (Habakkuk 2:3).

## Beautiful! Like Esther... Beauty Ingredients: Patience (Part 26)

* To our knowledge, Esther went only once to the king without his summons--but that was not by impatience, but by God's instigation.

NOTE: Parts 5-31 of this series are republished edits of a 2014 series called, Beautiful Like Esther. In them you may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' I have not changed this designation. Because in a greater sense, every disciple of Christ acts for Christ, models Christ and stewards His talents, from which God expects a profit.
