Beautiful! Like Esther (Part 27, Conclusion)
Arise, shine; for your light has come,
And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
For behold, darkness will cover the earth
And deep darkness the peoples;
But the Lord will rise upon you
And His glory will appear upon you.
Nations will come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.
Isaiah 60:1-3 (NASB)
Actors, models and talent for Christ: your beauty and talent are fishing lures, and you are God's fishermen. 'I will make you fishers of men' (Matthew 4:19). You man an army of small boats--each headed in the same direction.
Because by means of media, 'The prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2) has now connected the earth. It's like a giant ocean, a stormy sea, and Satan calls it Entertainment.
Upon it, he captains a massive armada. It rides high as luxury liners, but it's powered by galley slaves. I call them fans. Like Jonah, they're trapped in the belly of a beast. Unlike Jonah, they don't know the Way of escape.
Satan's deck hands are glamorous. The world calls them stars. Pleased with their superior positions, most ignore the pain beneath them. They don't know (or don't care) that their captain is evil. But by their skill and talent, he extends a massive net. It's called the Worldwide Web.
His catch? Millions of confused 'Persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left' (Jonah 4:11).
The scene is set. Enter Stage Right, actors, models and talent for Christ: a church without a roof, and you, His performers, are priests without a pulpit. Because what the enemy intended for evil, 'God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives' (Genesis 50:20).
Because 'When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him' (Isaiah 59:19). Actors, models and talent for Christ: you are that standard. You are His lovely flag, lifted high so that people can see Him. You are His daring fishermen, reaching low so that people can grasp Him.
'And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: 'How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!' ' (Romans 10:15).
So be diligent in this competition. The odds are against you, but God is with you. If looks are your lure, your performance holds their Cure. He is called Jesus.
Therefore, show off His great Form--with Heart, Self-Control, Wisdom, Discretion, Obedience, Sympathy, Prayer, Fasting, Charisma, Courage, Courtesy, Leadership, Humility, Resourcefulness, Truth, Power, Patience, Pondering and Packaging.
The results? A triple win: personal transformation, professional evangelism and worldwide salvation--for more people than you can know. I call that process beautiful.
