I must be about My Father's business.
My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.
It is finished.
Therefore, my beloved... work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God Who works in you...
To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
That the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Like the greatest Servant ever seen, our Example worked until He finished. Like the greatest story ever told, our world works until its finale. Like the greatest creation ever made, each man works until his completion: 'conclusion, fulfillment' (Random House Dictionary).
For every man in gear, becoming complete is a determining drive: a work in progress; a compulsion to move; a quest for fulfillment. The God-shaped hole in our birth-defected hearts longs for its missing Part. The Bible puts it this way: God 'Set eternity in the human heart' (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Without God, we feel empty. A drumbeat propels us, but to where and for what?
There's never enough money to fill a human heart. There's never enough power to keep it running.
The fame that woos us makes us puppets. The fun that thrills us leads us nowhere. The perks that please us lose their luster. The ones that love us can't perfect us. The drinks that daze us set up bondage. The foods that taste good leave so quickly.
Nothing completes us but God. He is our heart's missing Part. Jesus finished God's work on earth: 'I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly' (John 10:10). But don't confuse the abundance of Christ with money, power, fame, fun, perks, people, drinks or food. Confusing God's Word is Satan's game. Finishing well is yours.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: When Jesus filled your heart, your real work began. It's called The Great Commission, and its completion is the reason you remain on earth.* Thankfully, it's a collaborative effort: 'He Who has begun a good work in you will complete it' (Philippians 1:6).
You've been equipped to work on an aerial highway called media. So rise in the power of His witness.
To Be Continued...
* 'Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age' ' (Matthew 28:18-20).
* 'And He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned' ' (Mark 16:15-16).
* 'Then He said to them, 'Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His Name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things' ' (Luke 24:46-48).
* ''So Jesus said to them again, 'Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you' ' (John 20:21)
