Beginnings (Part 4)
Adam & Eve
The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being...

Genesis 2:7 (NKJV)
We can hardly talk about beginnings without considering Adam and Eve, the beginning of God's people on earth: the ones who got to walk and talk with God; the ones who were simple and innocent; the ones with a single rule to obey...

Which they didn't, because Eve was deceived and Adam followed her--instead of God. Once done, they were no longer clear and clean. They attempted to cover up their shame. So they refused responsibility and hoped to escape their burdens of guilt...

Which they couldn't. That feat would take a King. And when He came, the guilty could be cleansed by the Living Water this King carried.

But after they sinned and until He came, God's first couple was forced to start again under much harder circumstances.

Many of us face painful re-starts, too. So if they hit us, let's follow their lead...

Trusting God and making the best of them. Even more, since Jesus already came, we no longer have to go it alone. He'll make what's new better than what we had.

To Be Continued...

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
