Call-Out To Pray For Israel
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
'May they prosper who love you.
Peace be within your walls,
Prosperity within your palaces.'
For the sake of my brethren and companions,
I will now say, 'Peace be within you.'
Because of the house of the Lord our God
I will seek your good.
Psalm 122:6-9 (NKJV)
As our brothers, Jews are God's chosen people, and Jerusalem remains God's capital city on earth. Therefore, its destiny is of utmost importance.

I am not an expert on end-time prophecies. However, Christian and Jewish scholars agree that the restoration of Israel as a nation is one of them. It became official in 1948, following World War II and the Holocaust. Consider the miracle. What were the odds? Over 2500 years had passed since the Jews ruled their homeland.

'Thus says the Lord God: 'Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel' ' (Ezekiel 37:21-22).

Another sign: 'For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, that they all may call on the name of the Lord, to serve Him with one accord' (Zephaniah 3:9). Because the Jews had assimilated into countless other cultures for millennia, Hebrew was a dead language. But after restoring the nation, God restored its communication system. Today, Hebrew is spoken throughout Israel. It unites Jews worldwide.

Israel has been under attack since 1948. From just January to November 2012, over 1600 rockets have hit Israel (Jewish Virtual Library). More have been intercepted by its missile defense shield.*

For every good reason, stay aware of this conflict and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
