Chain Of Command: A New Order
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in Heaven and on earth.'
Matthew 28:18 (NKJV)
You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.
Matthew 20:25-26 (NKJV)
A new Commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
John 13:34 (NKJV)
King Jesus brought new order to Earth and new Orders to us.

What's the new order? It's about Earth's chain of command. Satan, 'The god of this world' (2 Corinthians 4:4, NASB), is no longer top gun. Jesus, the 'King of kings' (Revelation 19:16, NKJV), is Top Gun now and forever--crowned by an unprecedented victory on the Cross.

'And He said to them, 'This is My Blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for many' ' (Mark 14:24, NKJV). His Blood sealed man's new agreement with God.

Why does Satan still seem to be in charge? Wherever the Holy Spirit IS NOT, Satan is. Voids beg to be filled.

The 'IS NOT' territory covers much of the earth and most of its people. Before making an end to all things evil, Jesus waits:

He waits on God's timing. He waits on His Ambassadors to get The Word out: to spread the Good News of a righteous government... before He cleans house.

What are His new Orders to us? They're about conduct: a specific code of conduct for war and for peace. It's revolutionary, because what government calls its citizens to love their enemies?

'But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in Heaven' (Matthew 5:44-45, NKJV).

When Jesus introduced the idea, people were shocked: 'So that they questioned among themselves, saying, 'What is this? What new doctrine is this?' ' (Mark 1:27, NKJV). 'No man ever spoke like this Man!' (John 7:46, NKJV).

'For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His Life as a ransom for many' (Mark 10:45, NKJV).

Because life comes from death, victory from defeat, gain from loss, promotion from submission, and kingship from service.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
