For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the Cross.
Before his mutiny and exile, Lucifer was an executive in God's government. Now he heads his own demonic kingdom, and his temporary realm is Earth. Though millennia have passed, Satan's plan remains constant: rebellion against God.
Could one of Satan's grievances be God's love of mankind? Because He made man in His Own Image and 'Crowned him with glory and honor' (Hebrews 2:7, NKJV)... to become 'Heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ' (Romans 8:17, NASB)?
And one day on high, 'Do you not know that we will judge angels?' (1 Corinthians 6:3, NKJV).
Was Satan jealous? After all, the angels lived with God before we were created. Did Satan gather angelic support on the platform of unfair treatment by the Most High?
Did 'The accuser of our brethren' (Revelation 12:10, NASB), hate a species he deemed inferior to his own, but one that received the superior attention of God?
Regardless of his reasons, Satan loathes people. Therefore, we need to make it our business to learn his battle plan, 'In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes' (2 Corinthians 2:11, NIV).*
Although his schemes are many, they all fall under this order: 'To steal and kill and destroy' (John 10:10, NIV).
What is Satan stealing? Not our stuff. He has more than he needs. Satan seeks to steal our souls. 'For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?' (Matthew 16:26, NASB).
What is Satan killing? Not our bodies, because death is only a door. Satan seeks to kill our peace, if we allow it. Jesus said, 'My peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives' (John 14:27, NASB).
Because world peace is impossible--even misspelled. Consider any 'piece' without Jesus to be a 'thin membrane covering a festering wound.'
What is Satan destroying? Order. Satan seeks to replace God's order with personal, familial, cultural and governmental chaos.
