Christian Pitfalls (Part 23)
Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Satan says, 'Speak your mind! Don't hold back.'
God says, 'Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than him' (Proverbs 29:20). 'Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry' (James 1:19).
Satan says, 'Hurry up!'
God says, 'Desire without knowledge is not good--how much more will hasty feet miss the way' (Proverbs 19:2). 'Be still and know that I am God' (Psalm 46:10).

God says, 'Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary' (Galatians 6:9).
Satan says, 'Quit this race. You'll never win.'
God says, 'Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith' (Hebrews 12:1-2).
Satan says, 'You're in a rut. I've got a great deal now. It's too good to turn down, but you must act quickly!'
God says, 'Those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary' (Isaiah 40:31).
Satan says, 'You've messed up too many times. You're a loser.'
God says, 'The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit' (Ecclesiastes 7:8).
Satan says, 'Give up your dream. You'll never make it.'
God says, 'The vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay' (Habakkuk 2:3).
