I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first.
And it will be said, 'Build up, build up, prepare the way, Remove every obstacle from the way of My people.
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: YOU're the antidote to Christian posers.
You're God's new Communication Task Force, and you carry His remarkable Truth. It may be disguised as entertainment, but Jesus was disguised as a tradesman. You have precedent.
You're the Ultimate Star's opening act, reviving stiff and cold audiences... until Jesus Personally returns.
You're encouraged to join the advance wave: Christians already rising and shining in film, fashion, music and theatre. Your love refuses to discriminate. You laugh off the label of religious, because your faith transcends rulish judgments.
Not only are you lifting Hollywood, but you're lifting the church at the same time. Both faces are looking more like Jesus, which is surely part of the Master Plan.
You move boldly in the Word and the world. You extend your hands to fans and strangers. You embrace God's exceptional order: 'Many who are first will be last, and the last first' (Matthew 19:30). You follow your Leader oh-so-closely.
'And He Who sits on the throne said, 'Behold, I am making all things new,' and He said, 'Write, for these words are faithful and true' ' (Revelation 21:5).
As for Christian posers (who aren't in Christ), many don't realize their positions as impostors. Past leaders confused them.
In Christ's day, Nicodemus gives us hope that transformation is still possible. Truthfully, we don't need Christian leaders.
Seasoned pastors, counselors and friends? Yes! We'll know them by how much they look like Christ: 'If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all' (Mark 9:35). Like Jesus.
## Christian Posers: The Antidote (Part 5, Conclusion)
NOTE: This is a 2021 update of a 2011 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
