But Peter continued knocking.
The saying goes, 'It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings.' If God decides to appear as a fat lady, they're right.
Most poor results on this side of Heaven happen because of one ugly reason: we quit.
In choosing to leave earnest engagements, we redefine our futures as dropouts, unfaithful spouses, yo-yo dieters, fault-finding workers, naysaying skeptics, frustrated actors, back-sliding Christians, half-hearted helpers and second-guessers--never satisfied, rarely successful.
Faithlessly, we forget our commitments. Tragically, we abandon our dreams.
But as Christ-followers, we hang with Him. Until 'It is finished' (John 19:30), we continue.
We 'Continue in faith, love and holiness' (1 Timothy 2:15).
We 'Continue to do good' (1 Peter 4:19).
We 'Continue in prayer' (Colossians 4:2).
We 'Continue to walk in the truth' (3 John 1:3)
We 'Continue to rejoice' (Philippians 1:18) in the hope of our calling.
If we're called to be performers for God, we continue to sow and grow our gifts in the mission fields of entertainment.
We continue to till in this strange land, until we are creatively fruitful- because the talents He gave us...are His.
We multiply them to glorify Him.
As Jesus prayed to His Father for us, 'I have made You known to them, and will continue to make You known in order that the love You have for Me may be in them and that I Myself may be in them' (John 17:26).
Since They will never-ever quit on us, we must, in faith, honor our commitments.
