Deliverance (Part 12)
The Lord's Prayer
Deliver us from the evil one.
Matthew 6:13, Luke 11:4 (NKJV)
In the model prayer, we're told to ask God for delivery. Spiritual warfare was real then, but it's also real now. Whether or not demons indwell believers is debated. What's not debated is the probability of attack. 100%. If Satan tested Jesus, he'll test you. One tactic of warfare is confusion.

Satan calls good evil.* 'Getting good grades? You're a teacher-pleaser. Honoring your parents? You're a coward. Holding out for marriage? You're old-fashioned. Believing in God? He's a fairytale. Following Jesus? He was just a man. Performing for Christ? It'll never work.'

Satan calls evil good. 'Lose more weight! You can never be too thin. Get rich quick! Money will give you power. Change yourself! You're really not appealing. Party now! It's your body, so have fun. Be famous! Whatever it takes, do it. Buy from me! This stuff will make you happy.'

Whether by arrogant mockery or confusing temptations, physical ailments or frightening circumstances, a loved one's betrayal or suffering a great loss... the devil is prowling and 'Seeking whom he may devour' (1 Peter 5:8).**

Actors, models and talent for Christ: What is your role in deliverance? Where does your work stop and God's begin? As new leaders in an end-times church, as supporting cast to God's First Star, you need the truth from your Director. Not comfy, cozy bedtime stories. It's dangerous to ignore a war.

To Be Continued...

* 'Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!' (Isaiah 5:20)

** 'Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour' (1 Peter 5:8).

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
