Deliverance (Part 13)
The Ministry Of Jesus
He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons.
Mark 1:34 (NKJV)
The ministry of Jesus Christ was three-fold: 1) Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as God's Spirit powered His awesome miracles. 2) Prophet, Priest and King, as the King of kings showcased His sovereignty. 3) Preacher, Healer and Deliverer, as our Deliverer set countless captives free.*

Repeatedly, Jesus cast out demons. He cast them out of Mary Magdalene, a wild lunatic, a stricken lady, a blind and mute man, tormented children, synagogue members and unnamed others. Since demons were a force of destruction, God sent a greater Force of rebuilding.

He rebuilt families, purposes and lives: not stopping until His disciples were taught, Satan's legions were publicly defeated and God's Power came into His followers. Only then were we ready to move forward. Only then could we walk in His Commission.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: I'm not a fan of big churchy words. One of them is cessationism: the view that miracle gifts have ceased; that after the first disciples died, God would not work His wonders through men.

In other words, when men profess such gifts as prophesy, speaking in tongues, healing the sick or casting out demons, they're ignorant or deliberate impostors. We're no longer empowered like the first Christians.**

I guess I'm not into cessationism. But I am into following Jesus.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
