Deliverance (Part 28)
By Prayer
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.
Psalm 34:17 (NKJV)
I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:19 (NKJV)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing Psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the Name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
James 5:13-16 (NKJV)
Certainly, every Christian prays daily, because in prayer is delivery. Because without prayer, we're walking blind. Our senses are useless in this world's fray. But if we don't ask, why would He answer? And if we don't follow, why would He lead?

Maybe you've prayed fervently for something important, but what you sought from God hasn't seemed to happen yet.* Didn't Abraham and Sarah want children as heirs? Didn't Joseph desire freedom from years of bondage? Didn't David beg the Lord for all manner of things?

Didn't Jesus plead on the Cross to feel God's Presence?**

When we pray with a full and humble heart, God surely listens and answers our calls. His delivery is perfectly timed. But will we bear our crosses until then? Will we continue to believe He cares? Will we also intercede for others without fail? Will we push through with determination?

Because courage is prayer's requirement. In hours, years or beyond our time it comes: results more wonderful than we could dream. It happened for all of God's Bible stars. It will happen for you... so keep praying.

'My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing' (James 1:2-4)... including answered prayers.

'For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay' (Habakkuk 2:3)... including deliverance.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
