Deliverance (Part 47)
Starring Roles: Our Wardrobe*
Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'--and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked--I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed...
Revelation 3:17-18 (NKJV)
The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.
Romans 13:12 (NKJV)
We're surrounded by the works of darkness. We appreciate the armor of light. But what is God's gold refined in the fire? Is this pure Gold the resurrected Christ? On a Cross, did Jesus become our dross?

Were our filthy sins imputed to Him? His meltdown lasted six terrible hours. But when He rose again, He was pure Gold. The purchase price for this Gold is our faith. Our believing in Him is the buy-in.

The stronger our faith, the whiter our clothes. In this radiance, we're dressed for success.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: your success isn't booking big jobs, although it's easy to feel that way. Because the world defines it that way. Know this: God will elevate you. Exactly where is His decision. So don't compare the size of a stage. A Cross was the smallest stage of all.

Your success is in delivery: it's in being used to help others; it's in standing up as stars of light; it's in wearing robes of righteousness; it's in living the Great Commission.

Against Satan, you're dressed in the armor of God.** It protects you and shows you how to fight his cons.

For earth's people, you're dressed in the armor of light. It allows you to shine as ambassadors for Christ.

** Ephesians 6:10-18 (NKJV), The Whole Armor of God:

'Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.'

'Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.'

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
