Deliverance (Part 8)
Demons & Disease
Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.
Matthew 12:22 (NKJV)
A man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, 'Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely'... Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.
Matthew 17:14-15,18 (NKJV)
The connection between demons and disease is debated. Most of the church ignores it, preferring pills and prayer time. Most of the world derides it, preferring doctors and salesmen.

But Jesus considered them together. Is it a coupling of cause and effect? Can Satan cause illness and injury? Considering the Bible, I'd say yes. Satan's hits on Job were legendary.

In Job's case, it was a test, and he passed. He was healed and restored in abundance. The why of suffering is beyond us. That's another study, and not for now. The topic at hand is hot enough.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Don't ignore the supernatural. Our bodies gained life by God's Spirit. All believers agree in this truth. On the tie of demons and disease, I encourage you to read and pray.

I believe a connection exists. I'm not saying doctors aren't needed, and I know God can use them to heal. But what if an evil root persists? Do we not need to investigate? *

Is it not also true that our world groans with new diseases? That modern medicine cannot cure most of man's illnesses? That sometimes the treatment leaves us worse than we were before it? That 70% of us rely on prescription drugs?**

To Be Continued...

* Derek Prince: This YouTube video on demons and spiritual warfare is really just audio. At the point from 13:00 - 18:00 minutes, he talks about the connection of demons and disease. At the 18:30 - 20:30 minute marks, on children, media and demons. To me, the whole teaching is amazing:

** 70% of Americans take prescription drugs:

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
