Deny Shy (Part 4, Conclusion)
Be Bold
The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Proverbs 28:1 (NKJV)
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.
Acts 4:13 (NKJV)
And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness.
Acts 4:31 (NKJV)
Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech...
2 Corinthians 3:12 (NKJV)
But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the Gospel, so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ; and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the Word without fear.
Philippians 1:12-14 (NKJV)
So we may boldly say: 'The Lord is my Helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?'
Hebrews 13:6 (NKJV)
Actors, models and talent for Christ: be bold as a lion. Because God calls you to this role. You were born to perform 'For such a time as this' (Esther 4:14): a time when bad is bold, a time when good must be bolder, a time to make a public display of His magnificent gifts:

To gather attention, to invite stares, to put on a good show. At first, the glory comes your way. But you smile and pass it to its rightful Owner: 'The Father of Lights' (James 1:17).

But show business is scary and hard. It's a risky business. Scary and hard? Yes. Risky? By God's Word, staying home is the risk. Burying His talents is the risk. Because He told us to multiply the talents He entrusted to us. He wants to see a return on His investment.

What kind of return? Consider it. What on this earth does God value most? Our hearts! They are His treasure. If showing the world the talents He gave you wins even one heart for Christ, what's it worth to God? Everything. What's it worth to you? Everything, including commendation and rewards beyond our dreams.

What if your performances (on stage and off) win a hundred hearts for Christ? Or a thousand... or a million? Because today's communication technology multiplies your witness like never before. Because our Lord is coming back soon, and the entertainment industry is a means to an end. Specifically His end.

How better to locate His lost sheep and lead them home? Never have these words been more important or more true: 'It's a matter of life and death.'

So when you are prompted by the Spirit to act, act! Run boldly to your next audition as if tomorrow did not exist--because for some people, it doesn't. Perform in every waiting room. Perform on every stage as if it was your last dance. Maybe it is. The size of your spotlight is irrelevant. Just keep dancing. Keep singing, modeling and acting like Jesus.

Exude the confidence of Christ, because He gave you Himself.

As for shyness? Denounce it. Throw it in the garbage, and kick it to the curb. God will pick it up and send it back to the fiery pits of hell--where it belongs.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
