Do-Gooders: Carry Their Friends
When He had come back to Capernaum several days afterward, it was heard that He was at home. And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room, not even near the door; and He was speaking the Word to them. And they came, bringing to Him a paralytic, carried by four men. Being unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Him; and when they had dug an opening, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying. And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, 'Son, your sins are forgiven.'

I love the friends-raising-the-roof story:*
When four guys carried their paralyzed pal to see Jesus (Who was sitting at home surrounded by a sizable crowd), they were unrelenting in His pursuit. So they climbed the roof, removed the roof tiles and lowered their friend to the Feet of Christ.
He wasn't vexed at the interruption or concerned about the hole in the roof. Instead, He was gratified by their faith (not to mention their ingenuity), so He healed their helpless friend on the spot. He stood up to walk away in freedom.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: Faith-filled do-gooders carry their friends, when afflictions have overcome them. If 'The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much' (James 5:16), so does picking up a friend in need.
If Christ carried our pain on His back, we can carry good friends with our love.
Your elevation through media is breaking open countless church roofs. Therein, Sun Light reaches frozen fans. The name of this play is revival, and it's showing all over the earth.

NOTE: This series is a republished edit of a 2016 series called, 'Do-Gooders.' In these devotions, you may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' I have not changed this designation. Because in a greater sense, every disciple of Christ acts for Christ, models Christ and stewards His talents, from which God expects a profit.
P.S. To read the other devotions in this series, please see the Do-Gooders series.
