Do-Gooders: Cast Their Crowns
Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him Who sits on the throne, Who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him Who sits on the throne and worship Him Who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:

'You are worthy, O Lord,

To receive glory and honor and power;

For You created all things,

And by Your will they exist and were created.'
Revelation 4:9-11 (NKJV)
Have you read the Book of Revelation? God says you will be blessed if you read it.* Maybe the imagery is hard to get. Maybe the coming woes are frightening. But you'll get a preview of golden streets, the majesty of Christ... and earth's future.

In the magnificence of Chapter 4,** John was taken up to Heaven's throne room. What he writes sounds like a sci-fi movie, except the Script is altogether truth: more real than anything we've ever known.

'Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He Who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices' (Revelation 4:2-5).

Whenever God is praised, thanked or honored, the elders cast their crowns before His throne. They do not fail to glorify their Lord.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: When you are lauded or applauded, lay all trophies at your Master's Feet: the Ones that got nailed on your behalf.

You've never done anything alone.

Maybe you think: 'I've worked hard for these.' But you're just stewards of His talents, and you've done what you 'Ought to have done' (Luke 17:10).***

Your crowns rightfully belong to Him.

## Do-Gooders: Cast Their Crowns (Part 34)

* 'Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the Words of this Prophecy, and keep those things which are written in It; for the time is near' (Revelation 1:3).

** Revelation 4 is a short, amazing Chapter. Please read It all to see what happens in Heaven's throne room:

*** Luke 17:10 concludes the Parable of a Servant's Duty:

NOTE: This series is a republished edit of a 2016 series called, 'Do-Gooders.' In these devotions, you may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' I have not changed this designation. Because in a greater sense, every disciple of Christ acts for Christ, models Christ and stewards His talents, from which God expects a profit.

P.S. To read the other devotions in this series, please see the Do-Gooders series.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
