Everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father Who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father Who is in heaven.
Stand up for me against world opinion and I'll stand up for you before My Father in heaven. If you turn tail and run, do you think I'll cover for you?
If we don't believe that heaven is real, more real than anything we've ever seen, then confessing Christ seems impractical. It's potentially uncomfortable, detrimental in many businesses and very dangerous some places.
Although the vast U.S. majority claim to be Christians, we're mostly quiet. Because some of His Words are hard to hear. Factor in the common irreverence made popular by modern media, and truth becomes a wavering compass designed to sanction our indulgences.
Therefore, we worship Jesus privately, conveniently and occasionally. Therein, the lion's share of our time isn't spent with The Lion of Judah. It's spent in political correctness, where Christianity is a culture, and faith is like a flavor of ice cream.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: While Jesus told us to be savvy and He spoke to crowds in Parables, prudence and artful indirection don't mean hiding your faith at key times. When the right opportunity comes or a misimpression arises (regarding who and what you believe), you are commissioned to speak The Truth.
The Truth is Jesus and He's your Lord. The Truth is Heaven and that's your home. The Truth is Spirit, and He's your Guide. The Truth is mercy, and that's your theme. The Truth is faith, and that's your bedrock. The Truth is hope, and that's your anchor. The Truth is love, and that's your success.
Although the world may not yet know Christ, representing Him is why you're here. So when you're called to the witness stand, stand up for Jesus. He did for you.
## Do-Gooders: Confess The Truth (Part 49)
NOTE: This series is a republished edit of a 2016 series called, 'Do-Gooders.' In these devotions, you may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' I have not changed this designation. Because in a greater sense, every disciple of Christ acts for Christ, models Christ and stewards His talents, from which God expects a profit.
P.S. To read the other devotions in this series, please see the Do-Gooders series.
