Do-Gooders: Do What God Says
Whoever hears these Sayings of Mine, and does Them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Matthew 7:24 (NKJV)
If you love Me, keep My Commandments...

He who has My Commandments and keeps Them, it is he who loves Me...

If anyone loves Me, he will keep My Word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
John 14:15, 21, 23 (NKJV)
Actors, models, and talent for Christ, consider your toughest performance: the rawest role you'll ever receive; the toughest Lines you're called to master...

The Script you're forbidden to edit; the Direction you're obliged to take; the Star you're appointed to follow; the Cross you're commissioned to carry; the one act that sums up your whole show...

You must do what the Lord says to do.

You can't pick and choose from His Commands. You can't overlook the harder parts. You can't select the rest of the cast. You can't decide which scenes you will play.

You can't prefer other directors. You can't substitute fiction for Truth. You can't promote yourself to the lead; you can't quit and remain in His troupe.

Consider two concluding duties:

1. Unless you've just discovered Jesus (like a small child or a new Christian), you bear a responsibility to grow and fight as His seasoned saints. What good is an army of babies? Consider how new soldiers are trained. They study, they march and they practice. Trainers are fair and tough, but not sweet.

2. To walk behind your Captain requires complete knowledge of His Instructions. Thankfully, in most of earth's nations, Bibles can be easily acquired.* So if you're blessed with God's Instructions, don't let Them sit on a dusty shelf. Open the Bible and rehearse His Words. This is your life's most important role.

## Do-Gooders: Do What God Says (Part 38)

NOTE: This series is a republished edit of a 2016 series called, 'Do-Gooders.' In these devotions, you may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' I have not changed this designation. Because in a greater sense, every disciple of Christ acts for Christ, models Christ and stewards His talents, from which God expects a profit.

P.S. To read the other devotions in this series, please see the Do-Gooders series.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
