Do-Gooders: Overcome Evil With Good
Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8 (NASB)
Love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13:8 (NKJV)
Hope does not disappoint.
Romans 5:5 (NKJV)
Overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:21 (NKJV)
He is risen.
Mark 16:6 (NKJV)
Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.
Mark 16:15 (NLT)
Actors, models and talent for Christ: If you're acting on behalf of Christ, if you model yourself after Him, if you're a steward of His talents, if you're performing as He directs, then you are honest-to-God Christians--whether in media or the world.

As His communication task force, you've been commissioned to bring Good News to people everywhere all the time. Why else are you still walking the earth, except to seek and find His lost sheep? Modern media mega-structures let Light carriers move at light speed.

But you're also soldiers in a war, battling demons from the pit of hell. Since your life has already been saved, you fight for unaware civilians. They're caught in traps known as temptations. Therein, recall how Christ fought Satan. He beat him back with the Word of God, but He won the victory with love.

Jesus overcame evil with good.
Not with muscles, weapons or attacks.
Not with retreat or isolation.
Not with money or worldly degrees.
Not with pointed fingers or protests.
Not with mean words of accusation.*
Not with any power of His Own.

Jesus overcame worldly evil, including evil's instigator, by the overwhelming strength of love.

Since He said to love your enemies,
Since He said to give them nourishment,
Since He said to forgive injustice,
Since He said God alone is The Judge,
Since God said vengeance belongs to Him,
Since He sent His Son as your Model,
Since Christ was the Supreme Do-Gooder...

You act well to be do-gooders, too.

## Do-Gooders: Overcome Evil With Good (Part 99, Conclusion)

* Christ's only words of accusation were toward the corrupt religious leaders of His day, who claimed to be representing His Father's interests. But toward humble people, flagrant sinners, outsiders or corrupt politicians... He was kind, compassionate, mysterious or silent.

NOTE: This series is a republished edit of a 2016 series called, 'Do-Gooders.' In these devotions, you may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' I have not changed this designation. Because in a greater sense, every disciple of Christ acts for Christ, models Christ and stewards His talents, from which God expects a profit.

P.S. To read the other devotions in this series, please see the Do-Gooders series.
