Do-Gooders (Part 1)
The Original
You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Acts 10:38 (NASB)
Christ spent His time here as a Do-Gooder. I am overwhelmingly convinced, that:

Jesus purposely chose to live with us...
Planned an extended stay: 33 years...
Laid down His Crown and measureless power...
Humbled Himself to become a Baby...
Grew up within a simple family...
Obeyed His parents in earthly matters...
Made His home in a non-prestigious town...
Worked in a non-religious vocation...
Built in the physical realm with His Hands...
Re-acquired God's power at His baptism...
(as countless followers would one day do)...
Selected unusual disciples...
Then went about doing good for others...

To accomplish extraordinary things: like healing, feeding and deliverance, calling out religious hypocrisy, beating Satan and his evil legions, paying the price for the sins of the world, covering us with Blood from His Body, opening eternity's door to God, setting in play a new way to worship and giving every future disciple the Example of a Good Life well-lived.

Because He could have emerged fully grown (from a deserted place nobody knew) as a miracle-performing Prophet. He could have chosen His twelve disciples and taught them the things they needed to know. He could have carried the Cross for us all and been resurrected on the third day... to accomplish almost all the same goals in a lot less time than thirty-three years.

Actors, models and talent for Christ, one key goal begged His extended stay: walking you step-by-step down life's path to act in your roles as do-gooders.

To Be Continued...
