Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him Who sits on the throne, Who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him Who sits on the throne and worship Him Who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:
'You are worthy, O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.'
Have you read the Book of Revelation? God says you will be blessed if you read it.* Maybe the imagery is hard to get. Maybe the coming woes are frightening. But you'll get a preview of golden streets, the majesty of Christ... and earth's future.
In the magnificence of Chapter 4,** John was taken up to Heaven's throne room. What he writes sounds like a sci-fi movie, except It's one hundred percent truthful: more real than anything we've ever known.
'Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He Who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices' (Revelation 4:2-5).
Whenever God is praised, thanked or honored, the elders cast their crowns before His throne. They do not fail to glorify the Lord.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: When you get famous, give God glory. You've never done anything alone. The Lord is the Wind beneath your wings. In fact, He's the One Who gave you wings. He also gave you brains and talent.
Maybe you think: 'I worked hard for this.' But even the power to perform is a gift from the Source of power. You've just done what you 'Ought to have done' (Luke 17:10).***
The casting of crowns is your duty.
