Do-Gooders (Part 38)
Do What God Says
Whoever hears these Sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Matthew 7:24 (NKJV)
If you love Me, keep My Commandments...
He who has My Commandments and keeps Them, it is he who loves Me...
If anyone loves Me, he will keep My Word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
John 14:15, 21, 23 (NKJV)
Actors, models, and talent for Christ, consider your toughest performance: the rawest role you'll ever receive; the toughest Lines you're called to master; the Script you're forbidden to edit; the Direction you're obliged to take; the Star you're appointed to follow; the Cross you're commissioned to carry; the one act that sums up your whole show...
You must do what the Lord says to do.
You can't pick and choose from His Commands. You can't overlook the harder parts. You can't select the rest of the cast. You can't decide which scenes you will play. You can't prefer other directors. You can't substitute fiction for Truth. You can't promote yourself to the lead; you can't quit and remain in His troupe.
Consider two concluding duties:
1. Unless you've just discovered Jesus (like a small child or a new Christian), you bear a responsibility to grow and fight as His seasoned saints. What good is an army of babies? Or little kids who toddle around? Or whiners into angst and drama? Consider how new soldiers are trained. They study, they march, and they practice. Trainers are fair and tough, but not sweet.
2. To walk behind your Captain requires complete knowledge of His Instructions. Thankfully, in most of earth's nations, Bibles can be easily acquired.* So if you're blessed with God's Treasure Chest, don't let It sit on a dusty shelf like an art book or old magazine. Open the Chest and study God's Gems. The more you ponder on Their beauty, the more you will glow in the same way.*
