No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse. Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.
Surely, the Lord of ingenuity, Who never made two snowflakes alike--nor duplicated any creation in the entire history of the earth, both embraces and endorses newness.
'Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new' (2 Corinthians 5:17).*
Yay! But today's key Verses confused me. I sort of got Them, but not completely. Recently, I received enlightenment: If old wineskins can represent old hearts, and if God is a heart-transplant Surgeon,* then new Wine represents the Blood of Christ, requiring new hearts to circulate It.
If old garments are old material, then new cloth is a new way to worship: heart-to-Heart wireless communication:
'Believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father... The hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and Truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and Truth' (John 4:21-24).
In other Words, communion with Jesus no longer requires church walls, rules or priests. Christ's crucifixion and resurrection offer an out-of-this-world connection. Users opt in to God's plan by their faith.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: You are wireless communicators: traveling on the wings of a Dove, flying above lukewarm rituals, forgetting religiosity, remembering the Words of Jesus, worshipping Him in Spirit and truth, compelling others by your passion, loving them no matter what they do, and embracing the newness of Christ.
