He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him Who sent Me. He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.
'The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.' David made this a statute and ordinance for Israel from that day to this.
I will bless those who bless you...
If guilt can come by association, then can innocence come in the same way? Can blessing and healing be transmitted by touching a hem or a handkerchief or the shadow of a Spirit-filled saint?* Does the strength of our faith move God's Spirit to a miraculous outreach of love?
Does the Lord also regard the kindness of those who receive or assist His saints? Is His Arm so long and His Sight so deep that He sees through kindnesses to the heart? Doesn't God want 'All people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the Truth' (1 Timothy 2:4)?**
Didn't God tell our father, Abraham,*** that everyone who blessed him would be blessed? Didn't David share rewards equally among fighters and others who helped them?
Actors, models & talent for Christ: Does your appearance in media make you a transmitter of blessings? When fans see you, are they seeing God? When they like you, are they liking God? When they receive your testimony, could salvation's door be opening?
Only God can answer these questions. Even so, think of your performance like an electrifying current, resuscitating faith, hope and love.
To Be Continued...
* 'She came up behind Him and touched the edge of His cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped' (Luke 8:44).
* 'God was performing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, so that handkerchiefs or aprons were even carried from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out' (Acts 19:11-12).
* 'At the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were taking place among the people... the people held them in high esteem. And all the more believers in the Lord, multitudes of men and women, were constantly added to their number, to such an extent that they even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on any one of them. Also the people from the cities in the vicinity of Jerusalem were coming together, bringing people who were sick or afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all being healed' (Acts 5:12-16).
** Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?' (Ezekiel 18:23).
