Dream Haters (Part 3)
Mission Manglers
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven.
Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)
Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
Mark 16:15 (NASB)
Christians talk a lot about meeting Jesus, and rightfully so: 'Will I stand in His Presence, or to my knees will I fall?' * Consider the Bible's concluding Words: 'He Who testifies to these things says, 'Surely I am coming quickly.' Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!' (Revelation 22:20).

But we don't have to wait to meet Jesus. We can see Him now. We can hold Him while He holds us. Because He lives not only in Heaven, not only in Spirit, but also in Word, as in the Book every believer holds most dear.

'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... And the Word became Flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth' (John 1:1,14). Behold Jesus in the Bible.

The Bible is a mission Book: God's mission toward us, our mission toward Him and our commission to reach others. In the light of this active duty, rise actors, models and talent for Christ. But in their shadow lurks Satan, his principalities and powers, and the people under his influence.

They have a commission, too; it's to stop you, by any means available, including fear, intimidation, isolation, rejection, scorn... you name it. Maybe you've experienced it. They are strikers: sign-carrying, megaphone-holding, insinuation-building, truth-pretending bullies. They are mission manglers.

To mangle means 'to spoil, ruin or mar badly' (Random House Dictionary). It comes from a Greek word, manganon: 'any means of tricking or deceiving' (Etymology Dictionary).

Actors, models and talent for Christ: your mission into the entertainment industry is vital, for all the reasons you feel so deeply. But 'In order that Satan might not outwit' you (see 2 Corinthians 2:11), you must become familiar with his devices, and deny them.

In this regard, consider a Promise and a plan:

' 'No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,' says the Lord.' (Isaiah 54:17).
