Dream Haters (Part 7)
Duty Debaters
There was much complaining among the people concerning Him. Some said, 'He is good;' others said, 'No, on the contrary, He deceives the people'...

Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, 'Truly this is the Prophet.' Others said, 'This is the Christ.'

But some said, 'Will the Christ come out of Galilee?'... So there was a division among the people because of Him.

John 7:12,40-43 (NKJV)
'Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind. If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing.'

They answered and said to him, 'You were completely born in sins, and are you teaching us?' And they cast him out.

John 9:32-34 (NKJV)
He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the Cross, and we will believe in Him.
Matthew 27:42 (NASB)
In Jesus' day, the people of Israel dreamed of a Savior: the Christ, their Messiah. They dreamed of freedom from Roman oppression. They dreamed of prosperity in promised salvation. But the freedom Jesus brought, and the way in which He brought it, didn't fit their dreams, nor their partial understanding of Scripture.

Because here's one truth about Scripture: no man can fully get It. 'As the Heavens are higher than the earth, so are My Ways higher than your ways and My Thoughts than your thoughts' (Isaiah 55:9).

Even so, eagerly we study It, hear It, cherish It, and share our inspirations. The benefits of pursuing God's Word are endless and priceless. They're detailed in Psalm 119, but proclaimed throughout the Bible.*

That being said, we should not stand on the pinnacles of temples as God's authorities on earth, lest we take a long and painful fall.**

Actors, models and talent for Christ: most of you face duty debaters: Christians who do not understand your mission. When the church turned its collective back on media, 'The prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2) flew around the world unchecked.

He made a giant web, spun a great deceit, and millions of innocent people lost their lives as a result. But what the enemy intended for harm, 'God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives' (Genesis 50:20).

Refuse debates about your new duty.*** Miracles are happening as a result of your entrance into this mission field. So hang tight with your brethren who understand. As for those who don't? Be patient with them. God can transform them.

By your success, duty debaters can become duty supporters, and dream haters can become dream lovers.

To Be Continued...

* Psalm 119:;

* Article: 'Benefits of God's Word:'

* Scriptures about God's Word:

** Satan's temptations of Jesus in the desert were based on Scripture. Surely, Satan lost. Even so, it's not wise for lesser men (that's all of us) to debate Scripture, unless it's a loving debate. If not and at worst, you may find yourself in a fight for your life. If not and at best, you may cause division in God's church.

** Neither is it wise to presume you have a full understanding of God's Word.

*** 'Avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless' (Titus 3:9 NASB)

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
