Faith Precedes Miracles
Your faith has made you well.
Matthew 9:22, Luke 17:19, Mark 10:52 (NKJV)
Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, said with a loud voice, 'Stand up straight on your feet!' And he leaped and walked.
Acts 14:9-10 (NKJV)
From the woman with the issue of blood, to the foreign leper, to blind Bartimaeus, to countless others that Jesus has healed past and present, faith precedes miracles.
Have you considered the crowds that followed Jesus? Or the crowds that follow Him today? Not everyone gets healed. In fact, the Bible says that in His Own home town, 'He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief' (Matthew 13:58).
Maybe we feel like the desperate but honest father of the sick child, who 'Cried out and said with tears, 'Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!' ' (Mark 9:24).
We know our faith needs to grow. We know 'Without faith it is impossible to please Him' (Hebrews 11:6), but we also know that 'If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you' (Matthew 17:20).
What do all these scriptures mean? Faith must be spoken. We must talk to the mountain. By speaking our trust in God out loud, even in the direst circumstances--especially then, God hears us. He is observing intently. He will move mountains through our faith-filled words.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ are professional speakers of faith. His performers today must set the example, speak in faith, and then wait for the inevitable miracles that will follow.
