And He led them on safely, so that they did not fear; But the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
For it was fitting for Him, for Whom are all things and by Whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the Captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
What can I say about our Savior that hasn't been said?
The One Who parted the Red Sea for the children of Israel, only to close it over the heads of the Egyptian army.
The One Who slept snugly in a sinking boat with His disciples, only to rise and calm both the giant waves and their faithless fears.
The One Who chose plain tradesmen as disciples and fishers of men, only to become salvation's Captain by hanging on a Cross.
Surely, He controls all of earth's waters, only to become our Living Water.
Surely, His water can wash away fears, as well as our sins... to truly cleanse us.
Surely, words of thanks bear repeating:
Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Lord... and thank You, Lord.
Salvation's Captain still travels earth's seas, with His Hand extended to the helpless. Our duty to assist Him hasn't changed.
