Fear The Lord (Part 3)
And to man He said, 'Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom.'
Job 28:28 (NKJV)
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.
Proverbs 1:7 (NKJV)
Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, and the strength of salvation.
Isaiah 33:6 (NKJV)
If the fear of the Lord brings us wisdom and knowledge, if wisdom and knowledge 'will be the stability' of our times, we need to fear God now. We need stability now.

We live in an era 'Of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness' (Romans 6:19), and the entertainment industry seems bent on a 'corruption is cool' campaign.

So, how can actors, models, and talent for Christ be 'Children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom {they} shine as lights in the world' (Philippians 2:15)?

Answer: Fear of the Lord.

OK, how do they show the Creator of the universe unceasing and profound respect?

Do what He says. Pay attention to His Words. Obey His rules. Ask His advice. Follow His direction without second guessing or looking back. Appreciate His gifts--from the most important (food, shelter, clothing), to the uncountable extras.

Be content with your circumstances, especially when they're hard. Be thankful for your roles, however small. Believe He is there when you can't see Him. Believe He turns mourning into dancing, night into day, tragedy into triumph, and extras into stars. Believe His timing is perfect.

Help your brothers and sisters at every opportunity--including secretaries, stage hands, fellow performers, and fans. Try your hardest to live up to the example of Jesus. Be real. Be bold. When you fail, 'fess up.' When you get in trouble, ask His help first.

When you succeed, acknowledge Him first. Show the world His character through your own. Because He runs to embrace His lost and prodigal children, so do you. Show them that He has a big house. That He loves them equal to His Own Son. That all sins can be forgiven--even forgotten.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
