Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.
They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you.
If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.
And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
Jesus told us to 'Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation' (Mark 16:15, NIV); to 'Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven' (Matthew 5:16, NKJV); to 'Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples' (Psalm 96:3, NKJV); to be 'Witnesses of these things' (Luke 24:48, NKJV).
It's our charge, our cross and our commission: our duty unto death.
We must show and tell His life-saving grace to a suffering world.
We must take and shake His hand-holding love to a lonely people.
We must act and sing His spell-breaking truth to a charmed audience.
If entertainment is our employer, if media is our field, then performing is our job. By divine appointment, we meet all kinds of people: seeking, sullen and snickering. No matter. We're equal opportunity artists. But at the end of a good day's work, we go home. We rest and renew with our kin.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: Carefully consider your kin. Create an inner circle with believing brethren. Jesus said to go into the world, but He didn't say to go alone. Nor did He say to get cozy with it. Because our friends will lift us up or pull us down.
Consider also His surprisingly difficult demand in Matthew 5:30: 'If your right hand causes you to sin, cut if off...' So who's your fastest friend? Who's your closest confidant? Because if he or she entices you to sin, you've entered a fellowship withOUT God.
'He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed' (Proverbs 13:20, NKJV).

Because in a greater sense, every disciple of Christ acts for Christ, models Christ and stewards His talents, from which God expects a profit.
