Friends To Success: Allies
Do not fear them, for the Lord your God is the one fighting for you.
Deuteronomy 3:22 (NAS)
For by You I can run upon a troop; and by my God I can leap over a wall.
Psalm 18:29 (NAS)
Did you ever consider that competitors are actually allies to your success? In truth, we have only one enemy: Satan. The people you compete with for jobs are either friends in Jesus or those who need to meet Him in you. So treat them like allies. Learn from them, and they will learn from you.

Likewise, obstacles are allies to success. We know the easy path is not for us. Since God wants us strong and fit, view rejection as protection, hurdles as jumping points, and tragedies as overcoming stories in the making. Continue on the path to get the part, gain the respect, and become the star that God intends.

Dream-lovers are obvious allies to success. Choose to love everyone, but plan special time for fellowship with the encouragers in your life. They will pick you up when you are down, help you rest, and make you laugh.

God is your biggest Ally to success. Next time you walk into a crowded waiting room or stand in a long line for an interview, remember God prepared the way before you even arrived. He is fighting the enemy for you and doesn't expect you to go it alone.

As AMTC grad Tim Urban discovered on his road to American Idol fame, 'One of your men puts to flight a thousand, for the Lord your God is He who fights for you, just as He promised you' (Joshua 23:10). In Tim's case, God put to flight approximately 99,993 others to propel Tim forward.

'For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith' (1 John 5:4).

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
