Giving (Part 11)
Your Talent
For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey...
Matthew 25:14-15 (NKJV)*
Dear actors, models and talent for Christ:

If God made us and loves us intensely, if Eve got fooled and Adam followed her, if Satan began a reign of terror, if Jesus came to earth to rescue us, if He healed, taught, saved and empowered us, if He gave us new lives and jobs to do, if He left earth to go back to Heaven...

If God gives every good and perfect gift, if a talent is a very good gift, if talents were once a measure of wealth, if two thousand years shifted their meaning, if talents are still thought quite valuable, if talented stars are celebrities, if the Father of lights planned for this shift...

Then you were made for a time such as this.

If thick darkness now covers the people, if deceit is spun on a worldwide web, if wrong seems right and right seems old-fashioned, if reality TV isn't real, if vampires and warlords look like heroes, if games of thrones are what we're all about, if media is teaching our children...

If children are baited and hooked like fish, if children are bought and sold as victims, if parents are too busy to notice, if parents are merchandised like their kids, if people are dying and don't know it, if they're starving without the Bread of life, if you carry His Bread and His talent...

Then you are feeders and fishers of men.

So rise and shine with these great gifts from God. Plant them in the fields of entertainment. Grow them up high for the glory of God. Show the world something it has not yet seen; something new, exciting and wonderful. Share the Truth as good news without judgment.

When you multiply God's talents, you fulfill His Great Commission.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
