For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have One Who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet He did not sin.
Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Satan's temptations and traps won't stop this side of Heaven.
When we are most vulnerable in our weaker moments, when we bite bad bait and feel a hook pulling us under, we know The Answer Who is eager to solve all problems.
He's also the Teacher Who took every test we would face. Yes, He aced them. But that's just one part of His lesson plan. Next, He showed us how to walk earth's impossible courses.
He promised us a passing grade and covered our mistakes. But we have to persevere until our graduation, where He'll be waiting with a robe and crown for each of us.
In His Smile, we'll know He was with us through every hardship, speaking softly in our ears, 'This is the way. Walk in it' (Isaiah 30:21, NASB).
So for now, if we feel deceived, detoured or distracted by a devilishly detrimental situation, Christ is our no-fail Answer. When we've got Him, we can resist the enemy's Gotchas.
