Gotcha's Best Location
We are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming.
Ephesians 4:14 (NASB)
For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
Matthew 24:24 (NKJV)
Should we enter our churches warily? Jesus, Peter, Paul, Jude and John thought so. But shouldn't our faith be given freely? To Jesus? Yes! To everyone else? No!

When I finally became a Christian, it took me years to settle on a church. I searched out congregations and pastors--not by nice buildings or biographies.

I wanted to see strong hearts for Jesus, evidenced by teaching His tougher Words and offering the fruit of His Spirit.

I wanted to see clear humility, evidenced by the pastor's own lifestyle and a genuine outreach to the poor.*

Because the devil's hardest sucker punch is aimed directly at the bride of Christ. He wants to break us and drain our lanterns, so we'll be unable to meet the Groom.

This world's god already has outsiders.** No need to trap them. He wants to catch the ones sent to free them.

# Gotcha's Best Location (Part 10)

* I attend Peachtree City Christian Church in Peachtree City, GA, under the mantle of kind and wise men. It's complemented with kind and wise women. Both are rich in Christ and the gifts of God's Spirit. The senior pastor is Dr. George Dillard.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
