Hand In Hand
But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our Potter; And all we are the work of Your Hand.
Isaiah 64:8 (NKJV)
The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His Hand.
John 3:35 (NKJV)
Into Your Hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.
Psalm 31:5 (NKJV)
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My Righteous Right Hand.
Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.
1 Peter 5:6 (NKJV)
Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the Palms of My Hands.
Isaiah 49:15-16 (NKJV)
Hands are marvelous instruments. They cook, clean and mend. They operate, sculpt and saw. They comfort, fight and love. If a man 'Speaks from that which fills his heart' (Luke 6:45), then a man reaches from that which fills his mind. 'Knock and it will be opened to you' (Luke 11:9).

If we set our thoughts on things above, we knock on Heaven's Gate, a.k.a. Daddy's Door. Will it not open?

Yes! And once open, hold tight to The Hand that is offered: 'My soul clings to You; Your Right Hand upholds me' (Psalm 63:8). When it's hardest, hold tighter: 'For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you' ' (Isaiah 41:13).

Few images are more touching than a father holding the hand of his child. That bond is a heavenly grip: a unity so powerful that nothing can break it. We are safe. Jesus said, 'No one can snatch them out of My Father's Hand' (John 10:29).

Likewise... Fathers, open your hand to your children--regardless of their circumstance. A pat on the back may be earned, but a hand to be held is yearned. Your children yearn for the tenacious grip of your love. It anchors them to hope in this rapacious world.

Children of God, reach for His Holy Hand. Because He will reach back and never let you go--regardless of your circumstance.

Actors, models and talent for Christ, walk hand in Hand down Hollywood Boulevard. Watch His Righteous Right Hand open the right doors--and close the others. Feel the force of His guidance keeping you on the straight and narrow. Retreat to His tender touch when the world seems too much.

In the day-to-day and at the end: By His Hand you shall stand.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
