Hope: Flows From God's Word
Remember the Word to Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope.
Psalm 119:49 (NKJV)
I hope in Your Word.
Psalm 119:81, 114, 147 (NKJV)
Whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.
Romans 15:4 (NKJV)
God is 'The Fountain of Living Water' (Jeremiah 17:13, NKJV), Who comes to us by His Holy Spirit, 'For by one Spirit we were all baptized' (1 Corinthians 12:13, NKJV).

Jesus completes the marvelous process, as God's Own Word 'captains' our Salvation.

Where does human hope fit into this flow? Everywhere! The Lord's glorious waves of optimism descend from His throne room to His children. They pool in the chapters of the Bible. Eagerly, They long to replenish us.

How do we drink from these magical pools? Verse by Verse-- from eyes and ears to the heart. It's a precious, intimate communion.

So when hard circumstances deplete us, when hope runs dry and gloom settles like dust, we must go straight to the Source of all life.

'As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God' (Psalm 42:1, NKJV).

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
